The Amsterdam Convention Bureau (ACB) has partnered with Eurostar to reshape how delegates travel to international conferences. This initiative highlights the growing role of sustainable mobility in the events sector, aligning with the rising demand from organisers and participants for greener, more responsible choices.
The partnership directly addresses one of the industry’s core challenges: reducing the carbon footprint of business travel without compromising convenience. Eurostar’s high-speed connections now make Amsterdam more accessible than ever, with up to four daily services to London (around 3 hours 50 minutes), eleven to Paris (just over 3 hours), and fifteen to Brussels (under 2 hours). A fifth daily London service is also planned for December 2025, strengthening Amsterdam’s position as a well-connected and sustainable conference hub.
For delegates, the benefits go beyond environmental responsibility. Exclusive fare discounts—15% on Eurostar Plus and 10% on Standard tickets—are available up to seven days before or after events. This flexibility not only encourages rail travel over short-haul flights but also supports extended stays, enhancing the cultural and professional value of attending conferences in the city.
By building sustainability into travel logistics, the ACB-Eurostar partnership provides a blueprint for how destinations and event stakeholders can create meaningful impact. It demonstrates that conferences can be both globally connected and environmentally conscious—helping organisers meet their sustainability commitments while delivering exceptional delegate experiences.
