Fi Asia Thailand 2025: Driving ESG Impact Through Sustainable Frozen Food Supply Chains
Presented by the Thai Frozen Foods Association (TFFA)
Fi Asia Thailand 2025, hosted by TFFA on 5–7 June 2025 at the Impact Exhibition Center in Bangkok, brought together 1,200+ leaders from industry, agri-tech, government, and sustainability organisations. Co-organised with Thailand’s Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and the FAO Regional Office, the event positioned the frozen food sector as a regional model for ESG-driven transformation.
Environmental: Green Supply Chain Innovation
The event highlighted solutions to cut the sector’s environmental footprint across production and logistics.TFFA introduced the Thai Frozen Food Carbon Neutrality Roadmap 2040, aiming for a 45% emissions reduction through solar-powered cold storage, low-carbon packaging, and AI-enabled precision farming. Thai producers shared “zero-waste processing” practices that reduced factory waste by 30%. Workshops such as Sustainable Cold Chain Logistics supported actionable strategies like route-optimised delivery networks.
Social: Inclusive Livelihoods & Community Impact
Speakers emphasised fair, community-based development. Smallholder cooperatives reported 25% income improvement through fair-trade sourcing and training programs. The launch of the TFFA Youth Food Innovator Program encouraged student-led ideas for nutritious, affordable frozen food solutions, while panels promoted the preservation of local agricultural knowledge within modern processing systems.
Governance: Transparency & Accountability
TFFA showcased its Sustainable Sourcing Framework requiring member audits on labour, environmental compliance, and traceability.FAO-supported blockchain systems demonstrated transparent tracking from source to shelf. A highlight was a governance initiative empowering female factory workers through training in quality control and sustainable packaging.
Looking Ahead
TFFA committed to publishing Thailand’s first Frozen Food ESG Benchmark Report (Q4 2025) and organising annual regional workshops to scale sustainable practices.
As TFFA President Somsak Chutimaporn noted, the event reinforced that a resilient frozen food system must be “kind to the planet, fair to people, and built for the future.
