SINGAPORE — The European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) Singapore has launched a new Strategic Security & Aerospace Committee, bringing businesses and policymakers together to address security, resilience and economic developments affecting companies operating in the region.
The committee was launched on 4 September at the Airbus Singapore Campus, with more than 100 guests from sectors including aerospace and defence, banking and finance, energy, automotive, technology, consulting, legal services and academia. Singapore’s Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State for Defence Zaqy Mohamad attended as Guest of Honour.
The new committee will focus on three areas: security and resilience; global economic shifts; and aerospace, defence and space. It will provide a platform for executive-level discussions and closed-door dialogues between business leaders and policymakers.
EuroCham said the committee comes as security and resilience become increasingly important considerations for businesses. Its launch also comes ahead of the 50th anniversary of EU-ASEAN Dialogue Relations in 2027 and Singapore’s chairmanship of ASEAN.
The committee is intended to help businesses better understand strategic developments and connect broader geopolitical and economic changes with their practical implications for business operations.
