The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has opened applications for its 20 in Their Twenties 2027 programme, recognising outstanding young professionals who are already making a meaningful impact across the global business events industry.
The annual initiative celebrates 20 emerging leaders under the age of 30 working in business events, experience design and event marketing. Designed to spotlight future industry leaders, the programme recognises individuals who have demonstrated innovation, leadership and measurable contributions within their organisations.
Successful applicants will receive a range of professional development opportunities, including a fully sponsored trip to Convening Leaders 2027, with complimentary registration, accommodation and airfare. Honourees will also receive complimentary registration to Convening APAC 2027, a one-year PCMA membership, inclusion in the programme’s alumni network, and industry recognition through a feature in Convene magazine and a PCMA-issued press release.
The programme reflects the growing emphasis the business events industry is placing on developing its next generation of leaders. As organisations navigate evolving technologies, changing attendee expectations and workforce transformation, investing in emerging talent has become an increasingly important priority for associations and event organisations worldwide.
PCMA is encouraging both self-nominations and peer nominations. Eligible applicants must be under the age of 30, work in business events, experience design or event marketing, and be able to demonstrate how they are already making a meaningful contribution to the industry.
Previous applicants are also encouraged to reapply, recognising that professional achievements and leadership journeys continue to evolve over time.
Applications for 20 in Their Twenties 2027 close on 10 September 2026.
