SINGAPORE — The Singapore Tourism Board has signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with Informa Group Limited, adding another major partnership to Singapore’s business events strategy.
Announced during IMEX Frankfurt 2026, the agreement covers business development, experience design and shared strategic initiatives. It will bring three new Asia editions of Informa events to Singapore later this year: FundForum Asia, Pharmapack Asia, and BioProcess International Asia.
The partnership will also support the growth of existing Informa events in Singapore, including MRO Asia Pacific and Asia Photonics Expo. Asia Photonics Expo is expected to add a new Asia Semiconductor Expo component, linking the partnership more closely to sectors Singapore has prioritised, including aerospace, life sciences, financial services, advanced manufacturing and semiconductors.
STB’s Ong Huey Hong, Assistant Chief Executive of the Industry Development Group, said the partnership is based on the view that business events can support conversations, connections and longer-term impact for host communities. Informa Markets Chief Commercial Officer Nick Cole said Informa has nearly 20 brands in Singapore and plans to expand its activity through the partnership.
The agreement shows how Singapore is using long-term partnerships with major event owners to secure recurring business, grow sector-specific shows and strengthen the connection between MICE activity and national industry priorities. It also reflects a broader shift in business events strategy, where destinations are competing not only to host events, but to anchor platforms that can return, expand and generate wider commercial activity over several years.
