Taiwan Secures Nearly 100 International Conferences for 2026

TAIPEI — Taiwan is set to host close to 100 international conferences in 2026, with major association congresses across medicine, science and professional sectors strengthening the destination’s international meetings calendar.

According to MEET TAIWAN, the government’s MICE promotion programme under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the confirmed portfolio includes several large international and Asia Pacific association gatherings.

The Rotary International Convention, held in Taipei in June, attracted members from 140 countries, while the World Congress of Internal Medicine is scheduled for November with an expected 8,000 delegates.

Other major association meetings include the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology Congress, expected to attract around 3,000 participants; the Federation of Asian Small Animal Veterinary Associations Congress, with approximately 2,500; and the Pediatric Dentistry Association of Asia Congress, with around 1,000 delegates.

Taiwan’s international meetings calendar continues in September with the third Global Traditional Chinese Medicine Academic Congress, taking place in Taipei on 12 and 13 September.

The destination supports international associations and meeting organisers through MEET TAIWAN, which provides assistance for eligible international conferences. Support includes financial assistance of up to NT$5 million, government letters for international bids, site inspection assistance and recommendations for professional conference organisers.

Taiwan has also positioned its established medical, scientific and technology sectors as part of its international meetings proposition, providing visiting associations with access to universities, specialist medical institutions and professional communities.

The combination of secured association congresses and government support for international bids forms part of Taiwan’s wider strategy to strengthen its position as a regional destination for international meetings.
