FRANKFURT — The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) used IMEX Frankfurt 2026 to announce a series of newly secured international meetings and congresses across the medical, technology, and corporate sectors.
Among the confirmed wins was the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) 2027, to be held in Pattaya, expected to attract approximately 5,000 delegates. TCEB also confirmed an international medical congress scheduled for 2029, a corporate meeting for a global internet company in 2028, and a large-scale digital sector conference expected to bring around 6,000 participants to Thailand.
The announcements were made alongside the launch of TCEB’s new “3M” strategy and formed part of the bureau’s broader efforts to strengthen Thailand’s position within the international meetings and conventions market. During presentations at IMEX Frankfurt, officials highlighted continued investment in aviation connectivity, venue infrastructure, government support programs, and collaboration between national agencies and local industry stakeholders.
According to TCEB, Thailand has secured 23 international conference bids and continues to focus on sectors including healthcare, science, technology, sustainability, and innovation. These sectors have become increasingly important in the global meetings market as destinations compete to attract events focused on research, professional development, and knowledge exchange.
The congress announcements formed part of a wider trend visible across IMEX Frankfurt, where destinations showcased newly secured events and outlined strategies to attract future international meetings. Competition for major congresses remained a prominent topic throughout the exhibition, particularly among destinations across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.
For Thailand, the newly secured events are expected to contribute not only to visitor spending but also to opportunities for collaboration, industry exchange, and international engagement across a range of sectors.
